It is essential for my development and happiness.
I am a lawyer by trining at Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. I have serveral postgraduates, University of Louisville in Politics and International Relations, Australian National University in Internatinal Law and Complutense University of Madrid in Latin American Studies. I worked as a profesional as a human rights lawyer, protection officer with refugees, programme designer, monitor and coordinator and field officer in serveal countries. Now I am writing a PhD dissertation on Migration Policy in the Dominican Republic and Government issues.

Maria Paz Bermejo has had a lengthy career in international law, international politics and development. She has mainly worked in the UN Refugee Agency and related organizations such as the Spanish Commission for Refugees. Currently, Maria is living in the Dominican Republic and is working as a legal and policy consultant on Migration and Refugee issues to PANCAP/GIZ and writing her doctoral dissertation. She is reseraching on legal, political and social issues dealing the fenomenon of migration, refugees, nationality issues Governance and the Latin American State. Through PANCAP/GIZ she also writes law proposals on migration, human rights and HIV, providing thecnical assitance to governent actors. Maria attributes her success to the passion she has for her field. Maria is fluent in English and Spanish and has some knowledge of French. In the next few years, she is hopeful that she will be teaching at a university in her home country, Spain, the Dominican Republic her host country, the US or Australia where she and her daughter have family bounds. In the sort term she hopes to continue with the consultacy work she is now engaged in. She joined Who's Who to network with like-minded individuals and to establish and promote her personal brand.
