Martine Saussure-Young has always been passionate about the Chinese culture and the calligraphic writing of Chinese women throughout her career. Her calligraphic work is characterized by traditional illuminations with the complexity of patterns and decorations on parchment or regular paper and the use of gold leaf. Martine was a professor and teacher at various educational institutions for several years where she taught the written expression and the French civilization to Chinese students in higher education. She became very interested in the writings of the Chinese women, almost secret, little known to the general public, called the Nushu. Martine is the author of two memoirs on this subject, "The Nushu, the writing of the Women of Jiangyong" and "The Transmission of the Nushu." She looks forward to networking and collaborating with like minded professionals and her vision is to expand her visibility and exposure so that she can market and show the significance of her work. Martine speaks French, English and Chinese.
