Dr. Mary J. Smith retired from AT&T with 31 years of dedicated service. Her previous position as an Area Manager in Construction consisted of overseeing 15 managers, more than a hundred technicians, and 24 contractors. Spearheading projects, helping with the budget, managing HR issues and scheduling were some of her daily operations. Her career began in construction because she enjoyed being a technician, working outside, and meeting new people. Dr. Smith’s expertise are in project management and team building. She has a Doctoral Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix in 2018. She is a member of Delta Mu Delta (National Honors Society) and Hacemos which is a Latin organization that helps the community. She has done some public speaking and enjoys coaching managers and sharing her leadership skills with others. Dr. Smith won two Customer Service Excellence Awards at AT&T and the Hurricane Hero Award. In the next few years she hopes to become a CEO and possibly own her own consulting company. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals to gain the recognition and credibility of being a member.
