Michèle Huff is the Senior Associate University Counsel, Research, IP & Technology Law at the University of New Mexico. She provides legal support for the research mission, including compliance issues, negotiating sponsored research agreements with government and industry, training faculty and graduate students in intellectual property matters, assisting with protection, transfer, and commercialization of intellectual property. Her passion is mentoring. She is a mentor for young lawyers through "Bridge the Gap Program” and entrepreneurs through the Innovation Academy, where she provides guidance and encouragement. She is active in various non-profit organizations, and is always looking to give back. Michèle is the author of “The Transformative Negotiator: Changing The Way We Come to Agreement From the Inside Out,” published by Unhooked Books in April 2015. This transformative approach to negotiation weaves together the spiritual and the strategic and helps move parties past the ordinary mechanics of negotiations to achieve realistic goals and positive, lasting outcomes. She teaches the method for UNM's Continuing Education department as part of the Mediation Certificate program, and the EOD department as part of the ULead program. Writing is among Michèle’s favorite pastimes along with reading and traveling. She was honored as a Woman of Influence by the Albuquerque Business First in January of 2014.
