Michelle A. Lewis is director of security at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Union Station in downtown Indianapolis and police officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Through her work with the hotel, Michelle is learning more and more about the hospitality industry and has began taking on more roles, i.e. filling in as manager on duty. With the possibility of retirement from the police force in the next several years, Michelle is interested in pursuing a career in hospitality. Michelle is passionate about helping people through her work. Her proudest career moment as a police officer was mentoring underprivileged children in her area. Michelle has found great reward in mentoring young women and enjoys speaking publicly and leading a training program. In the future, she hopes to start a nonprofit dedicated to helping young women reach their full potential. She is a member of Toastmasters and is an active volunteer at her church.
