Nancy J. Sheehan is Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer at Catholic Health System where she serves as legal counsel and handles contracts, transactions, writes resolutions and bylaws for the Board, oversees compliance and risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and oversees all legal work done in-house and by outside counsel. Nancy joined Catholic Health System in 2001 and stepped into her current position in 2013. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association;,New York Bar Association, and Erie County Bar Association.
Nancy was a nurse for ten years and realized she wanted to redirect her career path. With an interest in law, she eventually found her niche in health law, having already had a background in medicine. She began working with Catholic Health System and is now very proud to have developed the legal department from the ground up, at first on her own and now overseeing four lawyers. Key to Nancy’s success has been perseverance, staying true to what she believes is right, building relationships and working well with people. She is eager to network and create new and exciting opportunities.
