Nicole Biernaczyk is the Assistant Business Manager for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 258. She has over 21 years with the union. On a day to day basis Nicole negotiates with contractors for better wages and better benefits for the members of her union. She represents approximately 800 people and 600 of them are women. She is the First District Representative on the International Women's Committee. Nicole says she is best known for her ability to negotiate contracts and advocate for Women’s Rights. She says that she has always been outspoken and loves to support and stand up for people. Nicole has a college degree in Adult Education and graduated in 2012. She is a member of Canadian Labor Congress, the BC Federation of Labour Health & Safety Advisory and Standing Committees and Applied Scientist, Technologists and Technicians Association of BC. She has also been published in Electrical Worker Magazine. She says the key to her success has been having a great union and boss who believes in her vision and pushes her forward. In the next few years she sees herself still doing her current job and having many more committees being apart of her job. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
