Dr. Nina K. Thomas has run her private practice for 24 years. Dr. Thomas' outreach to patients in need of trauma therapy has extended outside of the United States. She is a sought out speaker and consultant in China and has provided training to mental health workers in Palestine, Bosnia and Azerbaijan among other nations. She has served as a teacher for clinicians in Shanghai China for the past five years.. Besides her own practice, she teaches postdoctoral psychotherapy and psychoanalysis at New York University's Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis and chairs the Advanced Specialization in Trauma and Disaster Studies of the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. She has published widely in peer reviewed journals as well as edited books. Dr. Thomas leads her own study groups on trauma for clinicians working with these populations. She has a special interest in patients who've suffered from the trauma of war. She's very open to developing synergies with professionals in and out of her field in the name of collaborating on strategies for recognizing and improving mental health resources for the suffering in our world.
