She has been a practicing optometrist since obtaining her degree from Universidad de La Salle in 1995. She is very passionate about helping people and making an impact in the lives of people with visual impairment especially those with very poor vision. She is well known for her love of learning and being a leader in her field. She is a faculty member of University Foundation of the Andean Area since 2015.
She is currently in the process of obtaining a Doctorate of Philosophy, in Health services and Health sciences from Universidad Antonio Nariño.
