Parma Anderson Kertsen is a retired literacy worker and current minister, public speaker, and mother. Parma worked as a literacy worker for the Grebo tribe in Liberia, West Africa. She served in the Army Nurse Corps for 12 years, during which time she was trained as a nurse, served in Viet Nam, and received a Bronze Star. Parma’s focus in life is serving God and being mother to her two daughters. Now grown, Parma’s daughters are successful in their own careers and productive members of society: one is an environmental engineer, the other is a university professor with a PhD in anthropology. Parma is open to networking, consulting and sharing experiences that might have lasting benefits to children learning to read.
