Patricia is a highly educated and dedicated professional with over 35 years of experience in Occupational Therapy. Her expertise and focus includes liver transplant patient recovery and measurement of return to role participation following adverse medical events. In her role as Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Patricia not only teaches research in occupational therapy to her students, she takes her students out into the field where she involves them in real world translational research and education. Patricia is the founder of the International Alliance for the Study of Role Participation, an International research group interested in the field of occupational therapy. Patricia is also a member of Team Indiana in the "Transplant Games" which is an Olympic style event for patients who are organ transplant recipients. Patricia has been honored as a Fellow in the American Occupational Therapy Association. Patricia is currently working on a website which is dedicated to evidence based patient education and aims to develop a clear source of networking for transplant patients, their caregivers, and families. Because of her vast expertise and knowledge and quality research, Patricia has been featured in various publications over the years and is an invited National and International speaker. When Patricia is not working in the field and classrooms, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, who is renovating an 19th century church to open a restaurant. Patricia's future goals and hopes are to meet and network with professionals internationally who are studying and/ or interested in the recovery of transplant patients in order to further expand research, care, and best practices.
