For the past 4 years, Dr. Pinar Kurt has been Latin America Business Director for Johnson & Johnson. She leads the business in Latin America from Mexico to Argentina, except U.S and Canada, and makes sure operations and logistics run smoothly. Highly skilled in marketing, sales and coaching, she is a seasoned manager and mentor to her colleagues.
With a postdoctoral degree in Material Science and Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Pinar has lived in different countries all over the world and has been published in journals for her scientific discoveries and contributions. She invented a material in 2007 that can be applied to plastic to create an antibacterial coating, which has become an in-demand application with a vast array of uses.
Pinar has spoken publicly about her experiences as a woman in science, and is passionate about matching the value to what people can create. In 2014, she was awarded Best Area Manager in Europe, Middle East, and Africa in Cardiology. Looking ahead, Pinar hopes to move into a more global role at Johnson & Johnson, and to increase her activities in academia. Outside of her professional endeavors, she volunteers at a local orphanage and for Pojeto Amor de Pet, a local animal shelter.
