Patronella Sello
started in the television industry in 1993 as an extra and has worked her way
up through the ranks. Through hard work, dedication and an unquenchable thirst
for knowledge about all aspects of the television industry, she has produced,
written, directed and performed in a wide range of programmes and genres.
In July 2012, Patronella had been on the writing teams of
three TV shows that were in SA’s top 5 shows in terms of AR’s –Tshisa 3,
Moferefere Lenyallong and Streets of Mangaung, in which she also played the
lead. Her first made for television film, A Woman’s Worth screened to strong industry
and positive viewer critique.
Patronella is
committed to skills development and training and looks for opportunities to
mentor and train newcomers to the industry. She has a keen eye for potential
and is always eager to share her knowledge in the hope of empowering others. As
the Executive Producer of Bubblegum Factory, Patronella headed a team that produced 90 Lokshin Bioscope TV
movies over a 9 month period, underpinned by a training initiative in which
over 80 interns were upskilled. This initiative has helped grow Mzansi Magic
audience share and they currently hold the record for the highest ever ratings
on a Bubblegum movie – “Mogodu Wars”at 10,3 ARs.
Patronella is an incredibly strong troubleshooter and
specialises in setting systems into place. This includes re-organising existing
systems, starting up and managing new productions and operating with small to
large production teams. She is focused, has excellent interpersonal and
management skills and is a strong, inspiring leader who challenges her team to
excel.
As Creative/Executive Producer for her own production
company BLQ2WRK Multimedia, Patronella
will be able to continue to produce great content, while positively promoting
real growth in the industry by training, empowering and giving exposure to
tomorrow’s film makers.
Patronella holds a BSc Ministry degree from Christian
Family Church Bible School, where she focused on leadership and management.

Patronella Sello-Diedricks is a very driven, passionate individual who owns and runs her own TV production company. BLQ2WRK Multimedia is a production house that focuses on providing quality programming, videos and films to both broadcasters and corporate clients. They have a special interest in training and empowering women producers to not only enter, but make a lasting mark in the television and film industries. Additionally they focus on providing their clients with high production value while offering real opportunities to young South Africans. Over the past year, they have produced over 200 hours of television programming, discovered and trained over 15 scriptwriters, 90 technical interns and 40 actors. She is fluent in English and Sesotho.
