More than 25 years
Kogan Counseling Services, LLC. She has been in this role for two and a half years full time, and 10 years part time. She sees about six clients per day, five days per week, and specializes in trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, etc. She runs a trauma support therapy group. She is also the trauma expert for Talkspace, which is a telehealth therapy platform. She assists the many thousands of licensed therapists from all over the country by consulting with them regarding trauma clients. She loves working with clients, and says that being in the field for 30 years prepared her to do this work. She has worked in every aspect of the psychology field, and felt like it was time to branch out and treat clients independently. Specializing in trauma and PTSD, she holds a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, 1997, and is a part of the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County. She credits her success to having trust in herself, and trusting her value and ability. She wants to expand her business, and is looking to do more consulting, as well as adding restorative yoga for individuals suffering with PTSD to her business. The relationships she built with her clients through word of mouth gave her clients, and her current clients would refer people they know to her. This touched her, that people trust her this much and will trust their family and friends with her. She does charitable work with clients, and if they can't afford a therapy session, she'll make arrangements. For example, they can bring her lunch one day in exchange for a therapy session. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, stand up comedy, and being with dogs and family. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
