Dr. Simone Guaraldi Da Silva has worked assisting cancer patients for 20 years. She is an MD and PhD at the Instituto Nacional de Cancer, where she provides care and assist to patients who are suffering of cancer, with particular emphasis on pancreatic cancer. Having started off as a nurse assisting doctors with cancer, Simone felt there was more that she needed to learn so she went for her PhD and specialized in pancreatic cancer. She earned her PhD in Pancreatic Cancer from the National Cancer Institute of Brazil earlier in 2018, and is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Her work was featured in a scientific journal in 2015, and she is currently focusing her research efforts to figure out a way to combine therapies and cure pancreatic cancer. Simone was the recipient of an international award from ISG, and credits her success to hard work, dedication and passion. She hopes to network with other doctors to share her research findings and exchange ideas.
