Dr. Siri Rolón has 16 years of professional experience as a social worker and nonprofit administrator. She has served as Program Director for " Nuestra Escuela," a nonprofit that helps disconnected youth ages 13 -21, and their families, access education and social services. In this role she administers the program and writes proposals, prepares reports, trains staff and monitors implementation of plans.
She was prompted to go into this field because she always wanted to do meaningful work so she became a social worker and naturally progressed to administration of programs for social good. Siri does some public speaking when she leads workshops around the world. She attributes her success to a strong family support, confidence and perseverance.
In the future Siri hopes to move to the US or somewhere out of PR and get a position of Executive Director of a nonprofit or CEO of company in a private sector engaged in social change or services. She also plans to start a training institute to train the next generation of social workers. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
