Dr. Sharon L. McDaniel is the Owner and Principal Consultant for Amethyst Pathways, an organization focused on building highly qualified clinical professionals. Dr. McDaniel believes that the key to her success is her passion for helping people. Over the past 25 years, Dr. McDaniel has worked with individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders and mental illness. She is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Certified Clinical Supervisor as well as a nationally Certified Addictions Professional. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Capella University, a Master of science in Adult Education and Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Francis College. Dr. McDaniel has worked in academia and community mental health services across North Carolina and New York City. In 2917, had the privilege of having her research published in the National Library of Congress. An ardent advocate for building healthy communities, Dr. McDaniel is also a strong proponent for giving back to the community. With this said, she has volunteered countless hours serving community programs like the Orange County Women's Council and the Board of Directors for non-profit organizations to include People That Care. In the next few years, she would like to continue doing trainings and supervision as well as leading nationally in the field of behavioral health services. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
