Although Sonia is not very active with associations and societies she had dedicated her time and effort to educating and shaping young minds in her agronomy class at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. She has worked there for 7 years and is well versed in Veterinary Medicine. She has studied at the center for disease control for three years post her education at UC Davis. Her studies with Molecular Epidemiology-- a medical science that focuses on the potential genetic and environmental risk factors--has contributed to her love of what she does with her students. She credits her success to her keen passion in this field of Epidemiology. She is also associated with syndromic surveillance systems.
