Sonya Twohig is Executive Management ENTSOE European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity, located in Brussels, Belgium. Sonya has broad senior management experience in capital management, overseeing EirGrid’s revenue management and advising on wholesale market design policy. She is a notable industry leader on a number of strategic change management initiatives, including the establishment of a Joint Programme Management Office with ESB Networks in 2014 and the acquisition of SONI Ltd.
Sonya has an MSc in Physics & Engineering from (UCD)National University of Ireland, an MBA from Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, and an MEngSc - ENI. In her current role with the European-wide association ENTSOE, she is working to connect electricity grids, power systems, information systems, system operations oversight, as well as to effect legislative change.
