Sabira Qureshi has been an advocate of women's rights and gender equality as well as a proponent for the education of underprivileged and marginalized children in Pakistan and Afghanistan. She is the Founder and President of Pehli Kiran Schools. She started teaching poor and uneducated children literally in her own backyard in Pakistan over 23 years ago and she now has a chain of schools that teach the lowest income, Katchi Abaadis, in Islamabad, Pakistan since 1995. The Pehli Kiran Schools provide high quality, low cost Montessori education, through a unique education delivery model, tailored to the needs of these children. Sabira has been a proponent of Women's rights and Equality and is always ready to help further the cause being affiliated with Woman Thrive Worldwide and The Pakistani Petroleum Women's Association. She is working to create an E-Learning software developmental package that will further expand the reach of the educational programs that her schools offer worldwide. She has completed a Master’s Degree in Food Nutrition from Kansas State University and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics and Food Nutrition in her country, Pakistan. Sabira is the representation of a woman that has created amazing opportunities for children because of her passion to help and has built an amazing legacy for children of the future. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
