Sue Roppel is Chief Operating Officer Of IC-IMPACTS, is the first, and only, Canada-India Research Centre of Excellence established through the Canadian Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE). Sue is instrumental in bringing together a large international team of researchers, industry innovators, community leaders, government agencies, and community organizations from India and Canada, to find solutions to the key challenges that affect the quality of life of millions of people in Indian and Canadian communities. Sue has a Masters of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Alberta, 1992. She has served on the Board of Directors for North Shore Community Resource Centre and as President of the Kimberley Foundation. She is a former long-term member of the senior management team at Simon Fraser University as Director of Academic Relations and Director of Academic Planning. She was Director of Strategic Projects at MITACS design, development and execution of strategic initiatives designed to advance and contribute to the innovation agenda of Canada. In her spare time, Sue enjoys traveling and hiking.
