I have a son a daughter and two grandkids. My son is a programmer and my main Java consultant. My daughter just finished her PhD at Cornell University, USA, in Bio medicine.
I am a Computer artist, architect and designer looking for ways to construct poetic and sensitive artistic domains through art. Multiplicity and non linearity are concepts that show glimpses of patterns pointing to my relationship and harmony with numbers. Sometimes I think the numbers think and express themselves in me, and through me; I give them the power of action making them appear; I reveal their dynamic harmonies, their immanent relations, their infinite variations, their topological tessitures, their coming into being: this because the virtual realities and material objects that I create are sensitive expressions of a sublime and transcendental dreamlike universe whose existence is expressed through mathematical relations.I have been working with Interactive Computer Art since 1987 and I am, currently, the vice-director of the Institute of Mathematics, Art and Technology of São Paulo (IMATECH-SP). I hold a bachelor's degree in architecture and urbanism from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, a master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Brasília and a PhD in Communication and Semiotics from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. In 1986, I was resident artist at the Bemis Project with a grant from Fullbright Commission, USA; in the years 91/92 and 2010 I was Visiting Professor at the Department of Computer Science at The George Washington University, USA; in 1999, I developed a post-doctorate research in Interactive Arts at CAIIA - STAR, England, with a grant from Capes; in 2010/11 I developed a post-doctoral investigation integrating virtual and material realities at the USP School of Communication and Arts with FAPESP grant. I have published and participated in art exhibitions, spectacles and events in Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, United States, France, Hong Kong, England, Italy, Macedonia, Mexico, Norway and Russia.
