Ms. Karsten is currently Corporate Counsel for Catholic Health Initiatives. Her daily responsibilities include providing in-house legal counsel to the second largest national Catholic health care system and its multi-campus regional facilities and statewide networks in 19 states which consist of 105 hospitals, academic health centers/major teaching hospitals, critical-access facilities, mental health/rehabilitation centers, physician enterprise organizations, home-health agencies and long term care entities. She has expertise in managing complex medical-staff, provider operational and compliance matters, as well as in-depth experience with hospital regulations, risk management, supply chain and corporate health law issues. Ms. Karsten is a frequent speaker at health law seminars, business meetings and has authored and edited articles in newsletters and professional publications. She attributes her success to her extensive 20+ years in-house experience, crisis intervention skills and ability to maintain client relations. Ms. Karsten volunteers her time to organizations that support Parkinson Disease and Breast Cancer.
