With over 16 years of experience in her field, Valerie Cross-Blackett is the Director of Advisory Services for Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council where she sources out work and leverages partnerships for this Non-Profit Society supporting 11 different Nations in 4 service areas. Ms. Cross-Blackett brings dynamic leadership skill to her role as well as unprecedented expertise in Governance, Community Planning, Finance & Administrations and Economic Development dealing with capital infrastructure and emergency planning. She and her colleagues focus on responding to members needs in those areas and working towards good governance practices. Prior to her current role, Ms. Cross-Blackett was with a Construction company in Human Resources before deciding to channel her passion for her culture and helping others into her career. Frequently lauded for her work, she has been quoted in multiple newspapers and was the recent recipient of a Citizenship Award. Moving forward, Ms. Cross-Blackett is in the process of completing her MBA and is looking internationally to impact Governance on a global scale. In her spare time, Ms. Cross-Blackett enjoys hiking with her dog and cooking.
