Valentina Giaccaglia has more than 12 years of professional experience in her career. Currently, Valentina is operating out of the UAE working as a Surgeon with Mediclinic City Hospital where she has been for a little over a year. Valentina is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery at Mohammed Bin Rashid University (MBRU). Her main role and responsibilities are to be a general surgeon working with uncommon diseases and to teach different courses in MENA about VAAFT, EPSiT, STARR and pelvic floor diagnostics. Valentina has a particular interest in Colorectal Surgery, Proctology and Pelvic Floor Diseases, and focuses on Minimally Invasive Techniques. She has a Residency in General Surgery and a PhD from ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome. Valentina is affiliated with Clinical Clerkship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, Boston. She is also the President and organizer of Dubai International Colorectal Symposium 2017 with Prof. S. Wexner. Valentina has been interviewed with Italian newspapers and magazines and her many papers have been published in international journals including "Annals of Surgery." In the next few years, Valentina plans to continue to grow, continue to develop and continue to make a difference in her career. When not engaged with work, she enjoys going to the gym.
