Personal Information
During most of her working life Vivien Hargreaves has worked both as a teacher and a translator. She has 20 years of experience in marketing, sales, and product management roles. She has been able to develop strong business relationships across different countries and cultures. Regular contact with and visits to the Far East helped to underline the importance of clear international communication and reignite my passion for language learning and teaching.
She has also worked in education management, leading a large department of 280 pupils and 10 teachers/tutors at a secondary school in the Netherlands. She would very much like to make a contribution to empowering more women in the workplace. She is currently working on a series of workshops on motivation and learning and is also devising a module on academic writing. She hopes to meet other like-minded women to exchange ideas and perhaps to collaborate. She is a CELTA qualified teacher of English as a foreign language, with particular interests in Business English and community ESOL learning for adults.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Translation from 2013. She has completed an article on Minds of Motivations of Students. In the future she hopes to do more writing, lectures, and workshops with students. In her free time she enjoys reading, history, archaeology, and music. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
