Victoria Cleary is an Athletic Therapist for VC Athletic Therapy & Bracing, where she has been for the past 8 years. With over 13 years of professional experience overall, she is highly skilled at sports medicine and maintenance, sports industry treatment, assessment and rehabilitation. In her role, she travels with the Canadian wrestling team and administers any necessary emergency treatment or assistance, as needed. She also treats the general public, when not on the road, and runs a multidisciplinary clinic. She is passionate about integrated treatment, taking care of a patient as a whole, and not simply treating the symptoms. Prior to opening her private practice, Victoria served in the military. During her service, she saw the need for athletic therapists within the military setting but also out in the general population, and knew she had found her niche. She holds a bachelor's degree in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan University in 2005, and is a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association and Ontario Athletic Therapy Association. A recognized expert in her field, Victoria was recently keynote speaker for International Women's Day, introducing athletic therapy to the conference. She also teaches lessons and published articles locally on health matters. She was the 2012 recipient of the Service Award for the Community, and the 2017 Pedawalla Community Cycle award. Outside of running her practice, Victoria herself is an accomplished wrestler, having partaken in the 2012 and 2017 World Championships. Looking ahead, she is upping the game on her own training, and hopes to qualify for the 2020 Olympics. She credits her success to having strong support from her family, being resourceful and having a strong team and community upon which she can rely.
