Yvonne Tagoe has several years of experience in her current field. She is a sub editor for The National in Abu Dhabi. Being in this region has given her a wealth of knowledge and helped her put her two daughters through college. She has solid knowledge of the Middle East but overall she brings a global perspective to everything she does.
She earned a Bachelor's degree in French and Spanish at the University of Ghana. She moved to Canada, her second home, and worked in insurance administration while raising a family. Ten years ago, She went back to school for a Master’s in Journalism. She moved to Dubai in the UAE and has been working in journalism with Gulf News, a newspaper as a copy editor.
Her average day consist of ensuring that content is edited accurately and meets design and ethical standards of Gulf News. She is responsible for editing, accuracy, grammar, style, legalities and protocol. Producing crisp clean headlines, display writing and copy with ability to rewrite copy as required.
In the next few years she would like to continue what she is currently doing. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
