Alline Pedra is criminologist and human rights lawyer. Currently, she conducts research and trainings on migration and human trafficking in Brazil . She works alongside the government, coordinates research teams, conducts training, prepares papers for publication, and makes recommendations to the government. Alline has over 12 years of academic and public policy experience and a background conducting research on criminology, victimology, security, human trafficking, migration, organized crime, and justice system issues. She lectures frequently to post-graduates on migration and public safety and speaks Portuguese, English, French, Turkish and German. She is a member of the American Society of Criminology, European Society of Criminology and the Order of Attorneys of Brazil. Alline completed her Post Doctoral studies in Law at the Federal University of Santa Catarina after receiving her PhD in Criminology from the Université de Lausanne, in Switzerland. Alline has a Master’s degree in Criminology as well as a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law. It was in University when Alline became intrigued by victim suffering and decided to pursue a profession where she could make a difference. A highlight of her career has been working to stop human trafficking in Brazil and working with international organizations such as UNDP, UNODC and ICMPD. In the upcoming years, she would like to keep on working with International Organizations and teach at a post-graduate level and give more back to her community.
