Carmina Caralps is the Country Manager of DKMS Foundation in Spain. DKMS aims to help blood cancer patients who are at risk of dying all over the world by finding and contacting donors. This is the life-saving task of this organization. DKMS, also known as Delete Blood Cancer is named after the Mechtild Harf, wife of the Founder, Peter Harf, who lost her battle with leukemia. DKMS has since grown to be the world’s largest blood donor center. There are currently branches in the U.S., Germany, the U.K., Poland and Spain. Globally, there are over 5 million registered donors and the organization has provided more than 51,000 patients with second chances at life. Carmina developed a passion for helping others while working with her father, a physician. Her father performed the first heart transplant in Spain. She uses her love for helping people by working for non-profit organizations. Carmina attributes her success to her love for people, quest for knowledge, confidence, determination, tenacity and hard work. In two years, she aspires to be a main contributing factor in opening another donor center in Spain and becoming CEO of a company.
