Catalina Ruiz-Cañada has loved science from the time she was in high school and was taught about the "cell" and its unique composition as the self-sufficient entity which composes life. She was intrigued by this notion and pursued science as a passion from that day forward.
She serves as a scientist in Murcia/Spain, and has a PhD. In addition to the WAoFP, she is a member of AWIS Am Women in Science, and SACNAS: Empowering Latin Americans in Science. She recently returned to Spain after completing research at the University of Massachusetts.
Catalina is looking forward to networking and connecting with other likeminded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
