Denisse Centeno Lamas has nearly two decades of experience in her career. As CEO and Executive Director of Hispanic Family Counseling, Inc., she oversees the operations, mission and vision for mental health advocacy in the Hispanic community. She ensures that best practices and regulations are followed and staff is kept up to date on clients, as ell as travels extensively to provide social work and counseling services. She has a keen understanding of the need to offer cultural competency to the Hispanic community, and offers leadership and motivation training as well as suicide prevention services.
Denisse holds a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida, class of 2001, and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. She was recipient of the Alumni of the Year award from the University of Florida and recognized a Social Worker of the Year in 2015. A frequent speaker at conferences, Maria has also been features in magazines and other media. Looking ahead, she hopes to grow her company's services to other states and to expand their portfolio of service.
