Personal Information
Elke Sündermann has over 20 years of experience in her career as a teacher and writer, and is the founder of Anyone Can Learn. She writes educational materials and curriculum, teaches K-8 and develops e-learning courses to help young people explore their talents and passions as hobbies and career pursuits. A prolific educator and author, she has written over 50 history books for children, including leveled readers for many of her books, in her ongoing commitment to literacy and learning.
Having followed a natural progression in her career, Elke received a bachelor's degree in Community Nutrtition from Ohio University and worked with infants and children for ten years, then earned a master's degree in Human Development, specializing in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College and received her AZ teaching certificate to teach elementary school for ten years. She started writing books to be able to teach history in greater depth than what was available in other books, including textbooks. Through sharing her materials with other educators, she has become a dynamic public speaker at conferences and school author visits, and enjoys opportunities to teach and mentor youth and coach school sports.
Elke credits her success to responding to the needs around her in creative and meaningful ways, and she looks forward to continuing to grow her e-learning program to help students develop their skills and connect with community members for hands-on experience, advice, volunteer experiences and apprenticeships. She believes that helping students build their village of supporters, is crucial in helping them make their dreams a reality. Outside of work, she volunteers in several community events and programs, and loves to garden and travel with her family.
