Personal Information
Dr. Genessa Schultz has been in the educational sector for over two decades, and has been Resource Development Manager for Alternative Schools Network for the past year. She plays an active role in implementing and coordinating programs in her school district, and promotes growth throughout the youth in her community. She works with a team in the schools, and is also an independent learner.
Having always wanted to be a teacher, Genessa comes from a small town and only saw professional women in roles as teachers and doctors. Upon becoming a teacher, she realized she wanted to promote growth outside the classroom, as well. She holds a doctorate in education from National Louis University, class of 2014, and is a seasoned presenter and public speaker in professional forums.
Outside of her work, Genessa is actively involved in Chicago philanthropy, as well as Women in Education. She credits her success to transparency, being open to change, and having patience. Looking ahead, she would like to open more centers locally, and help make a greater impact in the lives of youth in Chicago.
