Jo Aguirre is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of her firm, which she has run for the past decade. Specializing in women's apparel, ready-to-wear apparel and flight attendant uniforms, she is responsible for collaborating with the junior designers on all fall and summer collections, and deciding and preparing the garments which will make it to runway. She is highly skilled in the creation and design of corporate uniforms, and is a fixture on the international fashion and runway scene.
Jo holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Santa Maria University, class of 2004. She has additional skill in graphic design and marketing strategy, and keeps on top of the latest developments with social media and the industry. She has enjoyed a lifelong love of design, having been taught to sew as a child by her grandmother.
A recognized expert in the field, Jo is a celebrated speaker on topics of fashion and design, and has been recipient of the Outstanding Designer Award, Breast Cancer Award, and Paraplegic Fundraising Award. In addition to the WAoFP, she is a member of the French Venezuelan Chamber of Commerce and One Club for Creativity New York.
