Lena Cordova has over 21 years of experience in her current field. She is a Technical Manager for VINCI Construction Grands Projects. She deals with the technical aspects for construction projects from the design issues and starting projects until they hand it over to the clients. She deals with clients directly to make sure all specifications are met, everything is according to budget, safety & quality needs are met, and all work is scheduled to be complete on time. She deals with the designer, engineer , technical exerts and clients and serves as a liaison between all parties involved. She first worked as an engineer and then a quality manager and now a technical manager. When she was a child, she dreamed of building bridges. She loved the designs and the symbol of the bridge as a link between communities and people. That is what sparked her interest. Construction in general is a subject that has always been concrete. She loves that you see what you are working with and the results are always immediate. She is now involved with large projects and has the opportunity to work with many people. She enjoys the communication between clients and management. 4 years ago she was working on a large scale project worth $4Billion for a high-speed railway line and she succeeded in making big progress on the way they approached the site and the quality of aspects by gathering people from multiple companies (200 people). They all succeeded together on behaviors of the construction and methods to gain better quality overall. They received gained great results with complete change. She is proud of the capacity of people who all worked together to achieve this common goal. She has a Master’s degree in General Engineering and a Master’s in Civil works from France from 1997. In the next few years she would like to be a project manager on a larger project or change her domain of expertise and shift more towards clients. In her free time she enjoys pilates, traveling, and swimming. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
