Margie Alders is Senior Press Officer and Crisis Communications Expert for Radboud University Medical Center. She has been with this company for 2 year, and is a dedicated and versatile PR and Communications Manager with 20 plus years in the field. Before this she was with internatonally operating Royal HaskoningDHV engineers for over 5 years; working herself up from telephone operator to Manager of the PR and Communications Department. She supported the company in growing from 650 staff to 7,500 worldwide and was responsible for the communications and PR during an integration process of 8 separate companies into one, under 1 brand. Later she was responsible for the merger of 2 major Dutch engineering firms Royal Haskoning and DHV (2012). She managed a team of 12 covering NL, UK Indoesia, India and supported over 35 teams in offices worldwide with communications and PR and where necessary crisis communications, including situations in which staff were in danger. Together with the HR international crisis manager she managed the International Crisis Team. She holds a Master's degree in English Language and Literature from Radboud University Nijmegen. Her goals for the upcoming years are to continue to grow within her company. The key to her success throughout her career has been knowing where and when to give communications and PR consultancy advice whether requested or spontaeously to management boards and directors, always looking beyond the requested and with creative solutions when traditional solutions are too obvious, with respect for other people and their values, getting others enthusiastic for an idea resulting in successful execution, feeling for relationships and company culture, flexibility and a positive attitude. In addition, as a PR pro she knows how to put others (directors, managers and other colleagues) in the spotlight with their expertise and knowledge. In an interim period she also worked for the branch organisation for Dutch engineers NLingenieurs, where she supported the director in strategic communications and PR, assisted the new communications manager in setting up and social media and the organisations Newsletter. She loves that she can put her studies to good use, and that her skillset benefits others, within her job as press office for a medical center, the general public in a positive way. Margie looks forward to connecting with like minded professionals and expanding her network.
As a PR professioanl many of the press releases and communications are written up by me, but in essence belong to a colleague.
