Personal Information
Nasra Abubakar has dedicated her life to the service of improving women's lives and started as a human rights and peace activist. When she went back to college, she studied inequalities in health in sociology focusing squarely on women's health. She has worked with local NGOs and projects of international organizations including UNESCO/UNDP, Norwegian Church Aid and Life and Peace Institute. She has also volunteered with many organizations including local and international including WFP, UNHCR, and Habitat. Nasra has also organized and trained many women to organize, mobilize and work together for community issues in Somalia and refugee camps.
Nasra is currently a Lecturer at Ohio State University and is a member of the Society Study for Social Problems and Sociology for Women in Society.
