Nerina Skuy founded her corporate communications consultancy in 2000 and is driven by a passion to inspire women to make their mark in whatever field they choose. She constantly strives to add value in all her pursuits. Her new rail company Apple Express Rail NPC, which will operate over 285 kilometers, connects more than 60 towns and links two provinces. The operation will include tourism, commuter and freight services as well as a community train. Previously, Nerina worked for Times Media, home of The Herald – at 160 years the oldest daily newspaper in South Africa – as well as for Volkswagen of South Africa as the company’s communications specialist, with responsibilities that included internal communications, editing official publications, media and launch functions.  She edited the official publications for Coca-Cola Sabco in South Africa for more than a decade and has been the editor of SA Rail, official publication of the Railway Society of Southern Africa, since 1997. Nerina is fluent in English and Afrikaans, with the working knowledge of German and Dutch. She has been appointed the Conference Manager for IRSC2015 – International Railway Safety Council – a forum of 300 delegates representing 150 countries and which will be hosted in Johannesburg in October 2015.
