Sarah E. Asmussen is the manager of diagnostic services for the Government of the Northwest Territories. She has served in this role since April 2015 and has been in the medical industry for more than a decade, beginning in Australia and moving to Canada for her current position. She has been given the privilege of being involved in the development of some amazing female leaders, and she feels that she has an inherent responsibility to demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development of others. Sarah earned her bachelor’s in medical radiation technology and science in 2006, master’s in medical radiation sciences in 2011, and master’s of business administration in management and operations in 2013, all from Charles Sturt University. She is a certified nuclear medicine technologist from the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia, a registered nuclear technologist from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, and has been given a level I certification in leadership fundamentals from the American College of Radiology. Sarah's future plans include becoming a higher c-level executive. She is the secretary for The National CPD Society. She attributes her success to always putting the patients’ needs first. She welcomes the opportunity to have the capacity to reach out to other female leaders both as a learning experience and for networking purposes.
