Silvia Mendez has been working in the wholesale business of groceries and candy of top Mexican brands. The company, Solaris Distribuciones was founded by her father, until she inherited it ten years ago. Silvia is ultimately responsible for the receipt, correct storage, sale and dispatch of goods at the right time and in the right quantities. Modern warehouses can be highly automated and often computerized. Silvia analyzes information provided by electronic point of sales networks. They also use computerized scheduling, warehouse management and stock control systems. In her current role, she handles financial matters, negotiates contracts for transport, and put into practice procedures for achieving greater efficiency. Wholesale managers are also responsible for the recruitment, supervision, motivation and, sometimes, training of their staff. Over the next few years she wants to continue to grow within her country and be more successful in her country. She strongly believes in ethical practice and being truthful with her clients.
