Sorka Rojas Aguirre is the Senior Cost Control Engineer for Bechtel Co. She has been in her career field for over 15 years now. Her average consists of working in cost control, budgeting in construction communication, reporting monthly, claims and budgets. She started her career in Bolivia in a mining company and had an opportunity to work outside as an engineer and took it.
Sorka says her expertise are in international things and numbers. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and Project Consultant Management from Bolivia in 1994. She is a member of the Association of Engineers. Sorka has spoken at conferences on mining in Chili and Arizona. She has been published in an internal journal called “Women in Mining in Peru” in 2013.
In the future Sorka wants to start another project in project control. She attributes her success to hard work, loving what she does and dedication. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
