Sueli Abreu has been Director of Centro de Novas Tecnologias para Educação for the past 24 years. She works with schools, to provide technology and teach how to incorporate the technology into classrooms and how it can support curricula. She oversees a team of 10 people, who also go into schools and teach, and she leads meetings on strategy and design. Her team has an outreach to more than 2000 children.
Initially interested in engineering, Sueli discovered she had an innate love for teaching, and found this niche could combine her two interests. She holds a master's degree in Technology in Education from the Federal University of Brazil at Rio de Janeiro, and has authored two books, as well as translated programming.
Looking ahead, she plans to continue as director and to further her research and writing. She is looking forward to networking and connecting with other likeminded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
