The Worldwide Association of Female Professionals Recognizes Irina Kushnerova
Irina Kushnerova is the Founder of IKare Funerals & Cremations, Inc., a licensed funeral services provider in the Chicago, Illinois area. With more than 20 years of experience in multidenominational and traditional Eastern-European burial services, Irina and her staff offer compassionate, professional and efficient services that can be tailored to the specific needs of the deceased and their bereaved.
Inspired by her mother, a healthcare professional, Irina was always driven to work in a sector where she would make a positive impact on the lives of others. When personal tragedy struck and she faced the passing of a loved one, Irina knew she wanted to become a funeral director to help ease the journey and transition for people.
Acutely sensitive to others, Irina found she could tap into the emotions and relate to the needs of people experiencing grief. She decided these skills could be of greater benefit to clients if she branched out on her own. After 15 years working for a corporate conglomerate, she opened her own funeral service business in 2012, IKare Funerals & Cremations, Inc. to offer sensitive services in a setting accepting of various cultures and believes. The absence of corporate investors, burden of multiple building maintenance, fleets of vehicles or quantities of staff, high cost of advertising expenses, allows the primary focus to remain on meeting the family’s needs in honest, reasonable fashion. As an émigré to the United States from Belarus, she understood the importance for people from various cultures to honor their loved ones through traditional services and rites of respect, and as such she became an invaluable resource and center of healing for Eastern European funerals in the Chicagoland.
In her nearly 2 decades of experience, Irina has served over 2000 families. She partners with every hospice in the area and is known for being a provider where family members and loved ones can talk to an empathetic and understanding ear. In addition to practical services, she also offers life coaching and preparatory arrangements and advisory services.
Irina speaks fluent Russian and English, and truly embodies her company motto of “We are here for you! To Listen, To Serve, To Support!”
