The Worldwide Association of Female Professionals Recognizes Miri Yochanna, PhD
Dr. Miri Yochanna is a freelance ESL materials developer and editor based in Israel. With over 27 years of experience in education, linguistics and technology, she is a highly seasoned teacher trainer with expertise in assessment and curriculum development. Currently, she teaches at Kibbutzim College of Education in Tel Aviv, where she delivers courses in methodology, linguistics and the integration of technology in the classroom. She trains current and future ESL teachers, and conducts extensive research on bilingualism among novice teachers.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Levinsky College of Education, Miri went on to complete a Master of Arts in TESOL from the University of London. In 2014 she completed a PhD in Linguistics from Bar-Ilan University, where she focused her research on the narrative ability of bilingual preschoolers.
Previously, Miri was Head of the English Division at the Center for Educational Technology. She established her consultancy in 1999, and since then has worked with auspicious clientele such as GHI Media, where she works as a pedagogical consultant for their television and internet-based series.
Miri credits her success to being hard working, diligent and reliable, and having gained considerable professional expertise. She is dedicated to encouraging other women to succeed, to take a leap of faith in their future and abilities. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys oil painting, exercise, reading and travel.
