Evelyn Landman serves as co-founder and CTO of proteanTecs and oversees all tech and R&D activities; including a multi-disciplinary team of experts in the fields of chip design, machine learning and data analytics. Offering over 30 years of experience in her field, she is best known for her deep and vast technological knowledge and creative problem-solving skills. Her target-driven approach, determination, and readiness to roll up her sleeves are what made her rise above the crowds and stand out as a leader in a highly technological landscape.

Evelyn moved to Israel from Uruguay at age 21 and immediately started her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, all without yet speaking a word of Hebrew. At first, she started out studying Chemistry but soon realized that her true passion was electrical engineering.
During her studies, Evelyn started working at Intel and continued there for a total of 11 years. She was eventually a senior staff member in the Processors department. Evelyn went on to co-found Mellanox, a global leader of end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnect solutions for servers and storage. There she served as VP of Backend and Product Engineering and was responsible for IC backend design and production and systems and cables product engineering. In addition, Evelyn led the company’s research group on assembly and optical technologies. While at Mellanox for 17 years she grew her department to 300 employees. She was the only woman among the 9 founders and co-founded the company while pregnant with her third child.

Evelyn eventually left Mellanox to focus on new endeavors. She wanted to build something new from scratch and recognized an industry wide need that she could help solve. proteanTecs was founded with a mission to enable the electronics industry to continue to scale. As veterans of the industry, the founders witnessed firsthand the rising challenge of achieving quality and reliability without affecting cost and performance, especially as technologies and processes advanced. The company introduced a one-stop software platform which applies machine learning algorithms and analytics to novel data created by comprehensive design analysis and on-chip Agents (silicon IPs), providing actionable insights and newfound visibility into electronics.

In her spare time, Evelyn has been playing on the Haifa women’s volleyball league for the last 9 years. She enjoys long walks, and even hiked the Camino de Santiago from France to Spain. When she needs to unwind and clear her head, she enjoys playing games on her phone.
Evelyn is married with three kids – the two oldest boys are following in her footsteps and studied electrical engineering, and her youngest daughter is not yet in college.

She invests a lot in educating those around her and believes in mentorship. It is important for Evelyn to provide an open door and opportunity to women. At proteanTecs, her team consists of 30% women, including senior engineers and managers. It always makes her happy to see a bright ambitious woman make it. Her message to girls would be: take charge of your own destiny – your future is in your hands, work hard and you can achieve anything.
